| A roller coaster ride with CRAZY LADY's foal One day after Love Whisper foaled her filly, Crazy Lady did not want to wait any longer and decided to have her baby as well. Although born with "placenta previa" everything seemed to be fine, besides some trouble to get her nursing. But two days later the big filly developed septicemia and had to be rushed to the "ER" to Guelph. Packed on the backseat of our truck the ride to the University of Guelph was not an easy peace of cake since it was in the middle of the night and a heavy snowstorm slowed us down. When we finally arrived the doctors already awaited us and the baby was in best hands. After 2 nerve wracking days - the odds were about 30% - the little fighter was doing better and we could bring down mom Crazy Lady for a reunion and a few days later we could even take both home. Now they already enjoy the nice spring sun and munching the fresh green grass. The filly reminds us a lot of Catchacoma, her older brother who himself became a stakes winner... More pictures |
