| It's weaning time! Our two foals are now weanlings. The big day was last Sunday and both sides handled the "breakup" well. Of course there was a lot of crying going on but eventually they all settled down and after two days they were practically back to normal. We are very happy with both foals, although the Vinona-filly is rather on the smaller side. But considering what she had to go through, not having a mother anymore at 6 weeks of age, she is doing fine. The mares (both not bred) will be joined by the two geldings Catchacoma and Bubba and stay outside during the winter. The will have a nice big run-in-shed that keeps them safe from the harsh winter weather. |
